The idea of building a Web Analytics community in Lille came from Nicolas Malo, following his return from Canada, where he had been involved in many social events around the Web Analytics in Montreal and Toronto.
The first social event has been held on 1 April 2009 in "La Café Citoyen" under the label "Web Analytics Wednesday" which brought together over sixty people (report in French and photos).
Other social events, called "Rendez-vous des Web Analytics / Web Analytics Rendez-vous", were then held on June 17, 2009 at Espace Tween (report in French and photos), on October 14, 2009 at VAD e-commerce (report in French and photos), on March 18, 2010 at Nord IT Days (report in French and photos) and October 20, 2010 at VAD e-commerce (report in French and photos). These events brought together more than a hundred people each time with world-class speakers (videos).
In 2009, the first "non-conference" Web Analytics, called "Web Analytics Camp" was held March 5 at EuraTechnologies with forty participants and six speakers (report in French and photos). The 2010 edition brought together over 150 attendees and 13 speakers on March 18 (report in French and photos).
In September 2011, the community Web Analytics extends to the Belgian side of the Lille Metropolitan area and became officially the Web Analytics community of the Lille-Kortrijk-Tournai Eurometropolis.
Apart from social events, the community is also active on the social networks: Facebook, LinkedIn, Viadeo and Twitter.
